About The Book

Under the Mango Tree
Embark on a transformative journey across continents with Zebee and her child, Salman. In a society where divorced women are shunned and living in abject poverty, Zebee’s resilience and determination become a beacon of hope.
From the tumultuous streets of India to the heart of Africa, Under the Mango Tree chronicles Zebee’s struggle and strength, alongside the fight of two African nations emerging from colonial rule. This compelling narrative delves into the diverse communities within these nations and their quest for independence, weaving through the fabric of traditional values, political upheaval, poverty, and racism.
Witness Salman’s harrowing experiences in an English boarding school, where bullying, racism, and prejudice shape his early years, and follow his journey through homelessness on the streets of London. This is a tale of survival and the relentless pursuit of justice.
With praise from literary experts and a solid foundation within black and ethnic minority communities, Under the Mango Tree is set to leave an indelible mark on its readers.
