About The Book
A story about love, grief and the kind of loss that changes you forever. Lost & Found in Kashmir unfolds in the shadow of tragedy, where ordinary lives are torn apart in a single violent moment. At its heart are Kabir and Heer, two people trying to hold onto each other while the world around them grows unbearably fragile.
Told through aching memories, quiet conversations and the spaces grief leaves behind, the novel explores what it means to survive after everything familiar has been shattered. It is a deeply intimate portrait of mourning, devotion, rage and the impossible weight of moving forward when parts of you are still waiting for someone who is never coming back.
Both haunting and tender, Lost & Found in Kashmir is not simply a story about tragedy, but about the people left behind by it; the love that lingers, the guilt that consumes, and the moments of beauty that somehow continue to exist alongside unbearable pain.
About The Author
Nikasha Luthra is an Indian author, poet, theatre artist and filmmaker from Chandigarh whose work explores grief, love, longing, identity and the fragile emotional spaces people often struggle to speak about. Having trained in theatre since the age of seven, she developed an early fascination with storytelling in all its forms; on stage, on paper and through film.
Nikasha is the author of the poetry collection Dark Tulips and The Flowers in Her Room, a collection of short plays. Her writing is known for its emotionally raw voice, intimate imagery, and cinematic quality, often blending tenderness with darkness in a way that feels deeply personal yet universally resonant.
Alongside writing, she works in film. She has co-written and co-directed Ankahe Khwaab (Unspoken Dreams) and wrote and directed Sehar Ki Talaash Mein (In Search of Dawn) Her creative work frequently centers around themes of memory, mental health, heartbreak, healing and the quiet violence of human relationships. Whether through poetry, prose, or film, Nikasha’s storytelling is marked by vulnerability, atmosphere, and an instinct for finding beauty in emotionally difficult places.
